WrestleMania 27 Location: The Georgia Dome
From PWInsider and http://blogs.ajc.com/the-buzz/2010/0...-dome-in-2011/ :
Access Atlanta is reporting that WWE had made the decision to have next year's WrestleMania at The Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA. A noon press conference is set for Monday to make the official announcement. Of course, that is after Sunday's Royal Rumble PPV. |
It was down to Atlanta and Miami. Didn't think Miami would get it since Florida had a WrestleMania two years ago and Miami is hosting Survivor Series this year.
that's wcw territory
I'm like 75% positive I'll be going to this.
Gonna be a good show this year i think. Lots of things seem to be moving in the right direction.

However, I am calling it- HTM for HOF at WM27.... He couldn't do it this year, so why not next year?
hell fucking yeah
That's shit. If it was Miami I'd be there 100% but really not sure about Atlanta. I guess I'll base my decision on my enjoyment in Phoenix this year.
What is the capacity of The Georgia Dome?
75k for concerts according to Wikipedia, which is likely close to what wrestling would hold.
For the record, WWE did do the Georgia Dome once in 99 (maybe 98) for a RAW.
Bit lame going to the Georgia Dome after all the brand new, magnificent stadiums they've been going to the past few years.
I think it was in summer of 99 and was the highest rated Raw ever.
Stone Cold and The Rock vs HHH and Undertaker? |
http://www.pwwew.net/tv/raw/991011.htm
It was Rock n' Sock vs Venis and Bulldog. The Skydome RAW was Foley vs Mankind. |
Val Venis drew the house
The one where Trips got bit by the snake! Hell yeah.
I am very strongly considering breaking my wallet to be at the Georgia Dome for Mania 27
WOO WOO WOO MOTHERFUCKA!!! I'LL HAVE A TPWW MEET AND GREET. I'LL BE THERE DAMMIT. YOU MEAN I ONLY HAVE TO CATCH THE PUBLIC TRANSIT TO MAINIA NEXT YEAR! pardon me while I go and jizz myself.

The GA dome is only 18 years old but there are already talks of building a new stadium for the Falcons. The NFL wont bring the Super Bowl to the Georgia Dome again because it is "outdated".
LOL |
Miami would have been amazing :'(
I can't wait until WrestleMania is in Dallas,Texas at Cowboys Stadium and has over 100,000 people (legit this time!).
I wonder if Vince would have the balls to put it in there. Think they can get 100,000+ for Wrestlemania?
Easily. Mania is an easy sell out for them, at least in the States. Wouldn't matter how big the arena was, it would be close to capacity.
Indy? Dallas? no? Bueller?
Well I dunno. They only just sell out 70,000 by show time. I guess they probably would sell out but there could be the risk of some empty seats which could be embarrassing.
I WILL be going to WM27...
Quote:
I'm sure they do that as it is for Mania just to pad the attendance. |
I'm sure they'd find a way to fill the place. The novelty of Wrestlemania is strong as hell. People will attend or order Wrestlemania that would never think twice about any other event.
Even if they had to sell the cheap seats really cheap, they would get that place to capacity |

Aren't you from Michigan? And you think having an outdoor event there in March is a good idea?

B.) If you're implying that weather at that time of the year would be an issue, I hate to say it, but your fears are probably for naught. C.) They went to orlando for WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando, FL, in the Citrus Bowl, which was an outdoor venue, and they could have very easily had thunderstorms during the event that night. So, I'd say, hell yes, give it a shot sometime...why the fuck not? |
Because it could snow or be cold enough to freeze your balls off. That's why they don't do Mania up north in non-domed stadiums.
i m def.going this is less than two hours from my house
