Alkaline Trio - new tune

"This Addiction"

They've gone to the pre-crimson sound

Sounds sick

i've had the album for like a week now. i'm not feeling the "old school" vibe they say they are going for on this, mainly because it doesn't sound like old trio. just because they recorded in chicago and use a renowned chicago punk rock producer doesn't mean shit. dunno. it's better than the last album, but a definite disappointment.

and i'm not saying that i want old trio back. i just want new trio to not be so bland.

Lead Poisoning is pretty awesome.

I love this new song. Not so much for being a great song, but just for being the exact right thing for how I feel at the moment. I actually cried the first time I heard it (....I was very, very drunk!).

Excited about the rest of the album. I hated Agony and Irony and wasn't a massive fan of Crimson, so any move backwards is welcome.

Just brought the new album.

Pretty meh, not as bad as Agony and Irony, but not a patch on Good Mourning which seemed to be the sound they were aiming for.

Bonus DVD with it is a pretty nice inclusion, but missing some important tracks if it's meant to be a full gig.

If I'd had paid to see them and they played 'Crawl', 'Blue Carolina' and 'In Vein' but not 'Maybe I'll Catch Fire' and 'Radio', I'd have been pissed.

Just downloaded. Gunna turn it up, drink a beer or two and give it a good listen. Be back with a review.
