The WWE Universe

Have people been saying that because Bret Hart said it or has it been around before that. I don't watch wrestling anymore until recently and I have been hearing it everywhere.

Cool King 02-02-2010 02:22 PM

It's been around for a while now.

Jura 02-02-2010 02:32 PM

It's pretty annoying.

morningstar 02-02-2010 02:35 PM

gay

Xero 02-02-2010 02:45 PM

Been around maybe a year.

Terrible name for the fanbase. God forbid you call them "WWE Fans".

CSL 02-02-2010 02:53 PM

Only the internet would have a problem with this. Pretty sure the other 98% of WWE fans don't care/probably even like it in the age of social networking.

Wait that kind of contradicts itself...

CSL 02-02-2010 05:41 PM

If you're being literal, sure

Team Sheep 02-02-2010 05:43 PM

Skippord 02-03-2010 12:36 AM

Jura 02-03-2010 01:31 AM

TPWW Universe.

parkmania 02-03-2010 08:42 PM

I'd still love to know why Vince decided he didn't want to call the consumers of his product "fans" any more.

Swiss Ultimate 02-03-2010 10:20 PM

Fans VS. Members of the WWE Universe

The Pope 02-03-2010 10:32 PM

WWE universe sounds gay

Droford 02-03-2010 10:44 PM

Think I'm gonna start using that just to annoy people.

I hope it catches on in the TPWW Universe.

ron the dial 02-04-2010 01:15 PM

if wrestlers are superstars, the fans must be the universe in which they are contained.

#BROKEN Hasney 02-04-2010 02:07 PM

They should rename the brands planets and PPVs supernovas.

Calling the fanbase the "WWE Universe" encompasses more people. If you post on a messageboard about how much you hate WWE, you're still part of the WWE Universe because you're still engaging in the prodict. If you're a chick go to shows because your boyfriend but doesn't really watch, hey, you're part of the WWE Universe. If you're a parent who only goes to shows because your kid wanted it for his birthday, there you go again. It's also a subtle way of making fans feel more like a part of what is going on.

WWE: Supernova would sound better than some of the PPV name's we've had in the past.

addy2hotty 02-04-2010 07:29 PM

I'm kinda universe to it now.

Used I mean.

It's also as retarded as every other corporate renaming, such as calling someone on a cash register an "active seller".

It's dumb.

Rammsteinmad 02-11-2010 10:07 AM

WWE Universe just generally sounds very childish IMO.

Good thing their target audience were in diapers the last time Cena sold something.

Gerard 02-11-2010 09:02 PM

I remember the first night they said "wwe universe" they just casually referred to it like they'd been saying it for years. :wtf:
