Say something nice about professional wrestling

because this place always seems to be baking up a serious batch of frownies, we need some positive energy to block out all the negative chi we've acquired.

Talk about something you like currently in pro wrestling. Praise what's gone right in the world (wrestling entertainment). Obviously there's at least one thing you like or else you wouldn't be watching. Or maybe you would, you sick freak. But for the rest of us, let's turn those frowns around, at least while we're in this thread.

Anybody Thrilla 02-02-2010 08:08 PM

CM Punk is absolutely on fire right now.

Xero 02-02-2010 08:08 PM

Edge winning the Royal Rumble was awesome and has me interested.

Jimmy Cones 02-02-2010 08:11 PM

The bellas make my pants feel small, and Bret cut a great promo last night.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-02-2010 08:14 PM

When asked who my top 5 favorite wrestlers of all time are, I've given the same answer for about 6 or 7 years now. But every week CM Punk seems to gets closer and closer to making his way in.

Triple Naitch 02-02-2010 08:15 PM

CM Punk's performance at the Royal Rumble was brilliant. Him smashing the mic over Zack Ryder's head had me ROTFLMAO!!!!

This theme song is pretty amazing:

Would he at least make your top 10 right now?

Supreme Olajuwon 02-02-2010 08:20 PM

Did it always have words? That's sick

LOL, Holy shit, ABT, this is amazing. I actually agree with you on something -- Zeke's theme is the "OOOH-WEE" right now!

I think Droford pointed out in the WWE The Music: A New Day thread that it hasn't always had lyrics, because long before it had lyrics, the music alone was used for the Brawl For All theme or something.

The One 02-02-2010 08:27 PM

I have a couple things that make me happy;
  • Shawn Michaels' still got it
  • Chris Jericho is one of the top stars in WWE right now. And could at a moments notice believably be a World Champion. (I don't understand why so many complain that he is misused)
  • CM Punk seems to be making great strides and has already accomplished much more than I initially thought he would.
  • I believe John Cena is great lately and right where he should be.
  • SmackDown is a good show.

TOVO Fact: Tovo will sometimes eat protein bars even when he's not working out simply because he enjoys the taste.

redoneja 02-02-2010 08:27 PM

Punk's "Straight Edge Savior" gimmick is probably the most interesting character development in a long time.

dronepool 02-02-2010 08:29 PM

I watch RAW most of the time because I just want to relax after work and watch mindless TV and not always play PS3/watch movies. I was starting to get annoyed and questioned myself on watching it because RAW was really starting to repeat itself but Edge's return sorta recharged my.. enthusiasm towards watching WWE.

Here's a couple wrestlers who usually hold my interest-

Chris Jericho
Edge
Shawn Micheals
CM Punk
Undertaker
Evan Bourne
Kofi
Morrison
Christian

As long as he's been using it, I believe so.

What Would Kevin Do? 02-02-2010 08:32 PM

Honestly, I have very few complaints about WWE right now. Everything really seems to be clicking right now. Hell, I'm even loving Batista right now.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-02-2010 08:33 PM

Are you talking about right now?

The Miz's development has been nothing short of amazing. Thinking back to him as the SmackDOWN! host and thinking about him now...he's advanced light years. He's probably my current favorite.

Skippord 02-02-2010 08:34 PM

Punk's beard

Skippord 02-02-2010 08:34 PM

and glorious chest hair

Inadequacy 02-02-2010 08:35 PM

Really liking that theme

James Diesel 02-02-2010 08:36 PM

This story with HBK has seriously got me hooked. Every week I'm trying to figure out just what they're going to do. I mean he didn't get his chance at Rumble. He misses out on Elimination Chamber last night. What now?

Anybody Thrilla 02-02-2010 08:37 PM

I also like how seamless the transformation from Festus to Luke Gallows was. He seems to blend well with Punk, and I look forward to watching him grow. Even though Serena's only been around for a few weeks, I think she adds a lot to the 'stable' as well.

WWE

1. CM Punk has been stellar (Hope they will add 2 or 3 more to his stable)

2. Miz/MVP has me thinking back to when SCSA fueded with the Rock over the Intercontinental Title. (Obviously not even close, but there is a glimmer - hopefully they will really build this up to a huge WM26 payoff)

3. The Return of Edge (Would love to see Edge vs. either Y2J or Orton at WM26)

4. Christian - Though wasting time on ECW is always worth watching

5. The development of Matt Stryker as an announcer

6. Drew McIntrye - Will be huge in 2 years

7. Bret Hart

8. Tiffany is so f-n Hot

9. HBK Still has "IT"

10. John Cena - The guy works. Has anyone since Ric Flair been so loved in one city and then so hated in another city. He always draws on the crowd.

TNA

1. Desmond Wolfe - Will always be Nigel too me.

2. AJ Styles Heel Turn - Naitch will show him how its done

3. Mick Foley - Can't wait to see what he does next

4. MCMG/Generation Me - Could turn in to the next Edge/Christian vs. Hardyz

5. Beer Money - Robert Roode will be a start someday

6. British Invasion - Great Heel Stable has come along way.

7. Duh - A real Tag-Team Division

8. The Pope - How did the WWE let him go?

9. Knockouts - So much better than the BS Diva's

10. Kurt Angle - The best in teh Business.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-02-2010 09:09 PM

Oh yeah The Pope and Nigel definitely

thecc 02-02-2010 09:21 PM

PWG has been incredible this year. They have one of the best undercards on the indy scene. Punk from this past summer to now has been one of the best things in the WWE.

TNA for the last 6 months has entertained me more than WWE has since about 2003.

Edge winning the rumble is great.

CM Punk. HBK. Edge. Pope. Wolfe. AJ. Angle.

An alternative available to watch.

An actual tag team division existing in TNA.

And a women's division, too.

Bret Hart.

The prospects of what to come - TNA, how wrestlers will develop, WM, Bret Hart, HBK, NXT etc.

Emperor Smeat 02-02-2010 09:48 PM

Jerishow was one of the best things about tag team wrestling on Raw in years.

The Monday TNA had Hogan and WWE had Bret Hart gave off the old feeling of the Monday Night War even if both shows were a bit plain (WWE) or overboard with surprises (TNA).

CM Punk's evolution of his character and his promos in the Rumble itself has been great. His feud with Jeff Hardy was easily the best feud of last year.

Stealth-Icon 02-02-2010 09:59 PM

The Beard is coming along fine as a tag team partner to Mike Knox

I quite honestly think hes done better on his own than Morrison has though its a close race. I really thought they'd have dumped the Miz off on ECW by now, but he's...AWESOME.

To be honest..right now..I think the WWE has more good things going for it than it has in at least like..5 years.
