this one was kinda hard. I voted for Piper b/c his Piper's Pit segments were memorable. Piper just had the wild personallity and you never knew what to expect from him. Even to this day he is so fun to watch in the ring. I never got into his matches but man when he grabbed a mic....
Piper
I don't know why I just don't really like Savage |
Supreme, where good sir did you get that pic of Piper? It's amazing!
google.com
macho owns this round
I was always a fan of Savage. I have not always a fan of Piper.
wow, tough one. gonna have to do some thinking
Talk about tough choice. Piper was and will be considered one of the biggest livewires in the biz being he's controversial. Savage on the other hand got a lot of hype being he knew how to get the crowd going
Piper.
Not really such a huge fan of either, but I remember more of Piper than I do Savage. |
Savage. Not a huge fan of Piper's in-ring work......
I am haveing flashbacks to WWF Rock and Wrestling cartoon show
Both men were extraordinary and are two Hall of Famers for sure but this is an easy decision for me still. Nod goes to Savage. Both guys were two of the greatest mic men ever and were solid in the ring. Piper was good at basically everything a prowrestler could be good at but Savage was EXCELLENT at everything a prowrestler could be at. You can watch old Macho videos and just see that he was in a league of his own. Randy was a known perfectionist and it showed constantly.
Hopefully Savage will earn his rightful place in the TPWW Hall of Fame. |
I gotta go savage. Great talker, great ring tech. Ive always thought piper was overrated IMO but he was a very good catalyst to hogan back in the day.
There's nobody more badass than Piper.
Piper was huge. Biggest heel of all time and greatest talker, imo. The fact he could then become so loved afterwards speaks volumes about the way he can control a crowd. Savage was a good wrestler but nothing really grabbed me about him. |
Macho Madness to the HOF. I really dislike seeing Piper.
Piper is awesome!!! But the Macho Man manages to be a step above awesome. Send Savage to the HoF, he's been close in the past.
Here's the two of them. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Wf5JY1mN13s&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Wf5JY1mN13s&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> |

FREQUENT FLYER.... YEAHHH!!
CUP OF COFFEE IN THE BIG TIME, YEAH!!!!!
I gotta go with Piper.
Alright, gonna break it down by the Rule of 5
Mic Work: Savage was a great talker and controlled every single interview he did. I could watch a hundred Savage promos and never get bored because he'll say something different every time. But Piper had the freakin Piper's Pit and just may be the greatest talker in wreslting history. Edge: Piper In Ring Work Now Savage was a much better wrestler then Piper in terms of his arsenal and how he moved around the ring. That doesn't mean Piper didn't know how to work a match. Especially in his mid 80's heel run, he controlled every single match as soon as he stepped through the curtain. He could work all styles, but so could Savage. Edge: Savage Longevity: Both guys kind of went down the same path. Started off in the territories, went the WWF, came back to WWF and then went to WCW. But Savage worked on top for much longer then Piper did. Piper seemed to come and go quickly after his 80's run died down. He worked a few main events in WCW later on, but they were nothing memorble. Edge: Savage Charisma: You could not argue both guys didn't have a shit load of charisma. I really don't know how to call this one cause you have maybe two of the top five charasmatic guys of all-time. They carried thier charisma and characters both in and out of the ring. They both really lived thier on screen characters. way to close to call Egde: Tie Drawing Power: Both guys drew big time. Piper was the main heel during the big boom of the WWF in the 80's. But again, Savage had more drawing power over time. This hurts Piper here Edge: Savage So Savage beats out Piper, but more so because of the entire picture. Piper will go down as one of the greatest ever, but he just didn't do it as long as Savage did. |
Piper was a much bigger draw then savage.

This is a tough one. Both are absolute legends but I think Savage gets the edge and well deserved hall of fame spot
Savage gets my vote. Gotta agree with narcissus, Piper was good at everything while Savage was great at everything, and personally he's in my top 5 all time so he gets my vote here.
Think Savage is going to be the first "golden era" wrestler to go into the Hall of Fame.
 Piper's picture.
Tough choice to make since both wrestlers were good in both WWF and WCW. Piper was involved in the 1st main event of Wrestlemania and helped make it become a event changer in the history of modern wrestling while Savage had good promo and charisma abilities where he could make any feud much better than on paper. Going with Piper but wouldn't be upset if Macho Man won or Piper lost or vice versa since both were good wrestlers of the 1980s and early to mid-1990s. |

Was having a tough time with this one, but Loose Cannon breaking it all down helped me out.
Savage gets my vote. |
Love Piper. Great wrestler, even greater character. I agree with LC that he might be the best on the mic of all time.
But Savage, I just love Savage so much. He was the first wrestler I really became a fan of when I started watching and he's still in my top 5 today. Gotta go with Savage. |
Piper over Savage for me
Easy choice, Piper couldn't go - Savage could.

Savage all the way for me. I can't think of anyone I'd vote over Savage. There's literally no-one. |
again, Piper easily outdrew Savage and probably everyone on the WWF roster in the mid 80's minus Hogan. But it's overtime that Savage gets him

Awesome. Ohhhh Yeeeaahhh
OH WOW, MISTER SARCASM...YEEEAAAHH!
Savage was always a favorite of mine, gotta go with him. |
The only wrestling dvd I have ever bought was the Macho Man dvd. Never even thought twice about a other dvd to own, that is how special he is.
