What is the deal with Eric making everyone take off their masks. I mean 1st Kane now Abyss and im sure someone in wcw?

What's up with the bumping of old threads lately?

Well, on one hand I get the anti-mask argument. How many masked boxers, mma stars, football players, soccer players etc. do you see in the legitimate world of competitive sports?

Remember when Kevin Nash and Scott Hall beat Konnan and Mysterio in a tag match and Rey had to take off his mask? And then on Nitro Nash comes out wearing the fucking mask.

True, but on the other hand, unlike WCW, how much money has Vince and co. made whoring out Rey Mysterio and his mask as a merchandising investment.

While the cruiserweights in WCW were awesome to watch, the fact that they had so many masked wrestlers dilluted the possible mega bucks they could've been making by having the mask wrestler persona seem exclusive.

Rey's mask is a huge money maker. If TNA could actually sign a luchador worth a damn with a maketable look and mask, they could both market to a specific demographic and bring in new fans with merchandising, ala Mysterio in WWE.
