You'd think after 3 superbowls in 4yrs, the Pats wouldn't have the "underdog" mentality to use for motiavation anymore.

Speaking of Motivation, Belicheck went to Pitt and did a pre-game talk to the ND team.

Ok,
1) if it's true that before last season he couldn't bench 1/2 his own weight then you lost the "amazing athlete" right there, especially for a football player.

2) If he was or is such an amazing athlete why did it take him 8 or 9 years to show it?

3) Under your defitition wouldn't almost all NFL players be amazing athletes? or are you going by the true defition in which case most "amazing athletes" aren't necceseraly "good or great" football players?

Ok, that explains last year, which was was his best year ever. I don't care about the "amazing althlete" crap, Tony Simmons was an amazing althlete, Car Lewis is an amazing athlete, Lance Armstrong is an amazing athlete, none are good football players.

Now, if you want to discuss good v. great football players. Let Tiki put up last years numbers, (including holding onto the ball) for another year or two, or put up less numbers (still holding onto the ball) and we'll see stats on other players so it wasn't a case of less stats for him, just less carries because they shared the ball... Then, we can talk "great". Although, if his opportunity goes down a lot, then you'd have to ask if he's so great, why take away the ball from him? Why draft Ron Dayne? why... never mind, check back after the season and we can discuss this, or during the season if he gets benched.
