He has a point. Back in the attitude era, business was booming. Locker room morale was much higher, they hired much more talented wrestlers. They didn't have much to lose by letting mediocre guys run with titles, so they had to make due. I mean, seriously, a Rock promo back from 99-2000 is way more convincing than John Cena.
I don't think he meant realism in the characters, more of in their promos.
