Actuially, I've been saying that Trips was probably going to take over for like the last year and a half. It's not like this is some stunnign revelation.
Shane is more about dealing with the corporate sponsors. And Steph is an idiot. Trips is alredy sitting in on writers meeeting and spends a lot of time in his interviews (non-kayfabe) talking about the direction of the product, and how he wants it to be more old-school, especially the matches. And that's exactly what's happened.
What pisses me off about this is the things he says about the cruisers and connecting with the fans; the most effective way for them to connect is to allow them to do the kind of things that cruisers are known for. Fast paced matches with a decent number of high spots. Take that away and you're cutting their legs out from under them before they start.
