The difference between something which is mainstream wrestling, viewed as safe (Though the Hart family would argue) tends to run in the realm of "blatantly fake," or stuff people know to be fake. Hell, I've had people who don't watch wrestling ask me why wrestlers blade (not in those words, but still).
The plunge into electrical circuitry was a lovely light show, but the WWE obviously faked it, and even if they botched it, they have paramedics standing by. We don't even know if the lightbulbfest had paramedics, and that's obviously more "extreme."
