They could have used the guy from the game but then he would need to be dubbed. The Voice of Max Payne is by a diffrent guy from the guy you see in the game. The guy that plays Max is actually a soap actor.

He'd be fine for it if he was ok with being dubbed and it actually looked like he was talking and he wasn't all out of synce.
come to think of it, I'd find anyone other than that guy hard to accept as Max Payne
