This sucks for Mr Kennedy, but I think it will help him more than hinder him. Kennedy has been slowly removed from the spotlight recently, so when he does return, it will regenerate some of his upwards momentum.

They may as well make him a colour commentator on Velocity or something in the meantime.
Have him do backstage bits, or even join Tazz and Cole at the Announce Table.
