When I first heard that there were Christian groups encouraging their congregations to go and see the movie, I was surprised. They kept calling it a Christian allegory. Of course, it's probably been 15 years since I've read the books (and was eight years old at the time), so I didn't remember anything of the sort.

But, after seeing it yesterday, I can definitely see where they're coming from. Aslan is very much a Christ/God figure (for many reasons I won't go into out of fear of spoiling this for someone).

I enjoyed it, and now I need to go back and read the books again. I remember really enjoying them as a child, but, again, that was a decade and a half ago.
