There's an idea. Have Edge almost win the Rumble, but loses to a RAW guy. The next night he says he wanted to go to SmackDown! and get away from RAW or something like that. Then, at SmackDown!, he announces that he's going to use his contract for what it WAS for... The World Heavyweight Championship.

I would love to see Edge on SmackDown! again, but I don't think that idea would work. The MITB contract was designed by a RAW General Manager. You'd think a SmackDown! General Manager would need to approve it before Edge could challenge for a SmackDown! World Title. Edge being traded for some talent (maybe a tag team, or some talented women or even cruiserweights since RAW has a few of them around these days) and then Theodore Long continuing the contract sounds like a better idea to me. Edge can challenge at No Way Out or something, then. NWO is a PPV, but it's not WrestleMania, so Edge has a fairly big stage, but they're not resting their buyrates for the year on him.
