This whole 'fans turning on Cena' reminds me of when I went to Smackdown in November of 2003, and Cena had joined Angle's team for Survivor Series. Then, it was him and Benoit vs. Big Show and Lesnar, and after Cena's victory, he shook Benoit's hand, and gave Benoit the F-U. I read that this was Michael Hayes' plan to book Cena much like Austin and he would be more successful, but Vince had the final word and edited out the F-U, and the show ended on the handshake. I think that was a huge turning point in Cena's character development, and if they went with Hayes' original idea and went from there (not teaming him with faces, not sucking up to fans, etc) I think that Cena would be a lot more enjoyable to watch.
