I think it's nice he wants to "do something good".
I just wonder what happens the first time he arrests someone on his own and they sue not the police but him personally, or someone resists... I wonder if he tried to push doing this more and more if the Heat would put a clause in his contract to either not allow him to do it or if he gets injured they don't have to pay him. A lot of players have things like that, Mike Greenwell when he was with the Red Sox always had a clause he wasn't allowed to drive Race Cars.
