The thing is though, I dont see the show being successful without Kiefer, he's so damn good in that role that it would be tough to lose him. However, I did read an interview with him where he said he would be willing to kill of the Jack character for the sake of keeping people on their toes. I think the writers are good enough to come up with new material without Kief, say based around Chase's character. But, I maintain killing off Jack would do more harm than good.
I dont think its all that unlikely that he's had so many 'bad days'. I mean, he had one bad day, then had about a year off, and then have another couple of years of normalcy before he's had another bad day, so its really not that unlikely. I mean you look at other shows, and people are having 'bad days' (maybe not as bad as Jack but still) every week.
