I was reading in the paper and it said Papelbon was the 12th man out (before the Arroyo trade) but looking at that, that doesn't really make sense now. Maybe it ment if Wells was start off the year on the DL? DiNardo is the only leftie in the pen so they couldn't send him down.

-edit Just checked out the depthchart on RedSox.com and they have Papelbon listed as the 6th starter, so that is what they must have been talking about? What would have happened if they didn't trade Arroyo though?
