"Right on, the fans will love it!"

Okay so maybe it didn't really go like that, and somehow I feel dumber for having typed it.

The epsiode with Hugh Borg was one of the only eps I saw when the series was still new. My father cracked up at the fact they ripped off BattleStar for that one.
With Hugh, it was different. The Borg were an infrequent enemy, and they dominated entire fleets of ships generally. In TNG, they were dangerous. In Voyager, they were shoved down our throats. And worse, one ship had to outwit, defeat, or survive them. ONE SHIP. Versus the Collective.
Not to mention, Hugh made a little more sense. Jeri Ryan was brought in solely because they thought KEss was played out. That's a bad reason to introduce a new character. Ever.
That and I bet they wanted something the geeks were sure to jerk off over.

Combine machine and large breasts, and you get a "winning" combination.

Damn straight he was one of the better actors, look at that sit
Yea Reed was the British guy, I like Trip (Tucker) early on too, but he started to get on my nerves when they went down the whole him/T'Pol path, gah. And yes that actress sucks, she sucked in CSI as well.

She was on CSI?

Paris was indeed the better character, till he married Torres, but I won't go there. Riker should have more like swashbuckler, I mean how many times did they mention Riker's woman, yet Picard always seemed to be the one to get the girl, go figure.
|
I never got that, either. Except that they probably felt that they had to carry on with the Shatner tradition of the Captain always getting the "ladies."
Riker always was portrayed with a Roguish past, which made me wonder why they always had him act like he had a very large stick up his ass. PLayed trombone well, at least (I played it for 12 years).

Browder and Black are a great pair, and when you put then with Judge, Shanks & Tapping it's even better. I think it's amazing they have kept it going for so long without it end up crap like the X-Files. Props to the actors, writers and so on.
|
Shanks and Judge especially have this great sort of chemistry. Either one of them can make Browder look cool by association. Not that he needs it, but they are really the kind of make-or-break personas of Stargate.
I also dig that three of the cast members have writter andor directed episodes that didn't suck. Normally, when that happens, the eps are crap. But especially Judge's debut, I forget the name, but the one where Teal'c dreams he's a fireman giving a kidney to Bra'tak...Oone of my favorites.

I suppose they might have a advoided it as you can't really have Q ep without mentioning Picard and/or Janeway. I do have to say that I loved how they played Q off Picard & Janeway seperately. Damnit I want a movie with Q in it!
|
It would have been interesting to see him play off Archer. I love how he riled each differently though. I guess Omnipotence comes with the knowledge of which buttons to push on "inferior" life forms.
a movie with Q would be interesting. I don't know what they could do with it though.

Oh without a doubt, I mean in the first couple of eps he's carrying on about how people never turn him off, and so and then you see him doing stuff like singing Opera and just growing slowly in the background, not in your face every two seconds. It was really one of the things they did well. I don't think any character on Voyager got more character development time than 7, gah.

They had to force us to accept her. Didn't really work, but...

I'm sure the borg will recover, if for no other reason than to give Data & 7 issues to annoy us with. *shudders at the thought of those two in the same Trek movie*

Well, technically, Data's dead.
It's a shame. I like Spiner, but they overdid his character. And even in death, it looks like he'll be around.
And since the talk was of the next movie featuring the Voyager crew (After NEmesis and Enterprise both kinda bombing, I doubt it'll come, but) the odds of B4 being involved with 7 went up pretty significantly. Let's just throw in a few Vulcans to complain about how illogical it is to aspire to be human...
