I really REALLY liked the PPV. I ddin't care in the least that there was no stunt booking or pointles guest appearances.
The Trish/Mickie match was definitely a show stealer. Great match fromstart to finish..even the blown spot could be explained by Trish's "injury" And the crowd obviously appreciated the job Mickie has been doing playing the heel. I think some fans forget that Victoria played a pretty good psycho..lets hope they don't drop the ball with Mickie.
Foley/Edge was incredible. Predictable result, but a great, great match.
MITB was a lot of fun and I could see the WWE using it as a springboard to send Flair to SD during the draft to set up a program with Finlay. Also, Shelton Benjamin is BY FAR the best athlete on the roster.
The segment with Booker was GOLDEN.
Carlito is going to get over quick as a face.
I actually thought the show was fairly predictable until the title matches:
I was pretty apathetic about Rey winning the title. The match was a little lackluster and shorter than I expected. And I think the live crowd definitely didn't pop the way the WWE expected. I honestly believe Orton/Angle would've torn the house down...but Rey as champ does give them a nice sproingboard for other matches. Not my choice, but definitely surprising.
Trips/Cena: Trips carried the match, but no matter. Wildly entertaining and the crowd was RED HOT. The competing chants were electric; this was the most fired up I've seen a crowd since SCSA/Rock II in Houston. I was shocked by the ending, but if it leads to a nice little heel run by Cena, playing off the way the crowd vilified him, then its all good. John cena as a heel was incredible.
If we get 6 more months of the 'scrappy underdog' BS however, I'll probably be tuning out. The wussified Cena is just not as entertaining.
