That interview on WWE.com sheds an entirely new light on this. Tomko's going to go over to Japan and improve until the WWE are forced to take note of his abilities and use him in a more prominent role. You can't fault the guy for being ambitious.
I like Tomko, he is above average in the ring, and he's a fine talker. The guy was a seven-time OVW Southern Tag Team Champion, so he must have done something to impress Jim Cornette. Tomko's something like 29 or 30 now, so he's still got a future ahead of him. It's good to see him want to use his early years to improve and come back with a lot more going for him.
