They are very close friends in real life, however shocking this may sound to you being friends with Hunter doesn't mean easy street for life. Hunter doesn't actually own the company (yet
) Sean Waltman was a very close friends of Hunter for years, including during the time when he was married to Steph and had an increased roll in the behind the scenes working of WWE, yet his career actually went down hill. Regal also is a very behind the scenes guy for WWE and doesn't any far fetched idea that he would be World Champ some day (though I would personally pay to see it happen) and he is ok with that. He understand his role in the company as a steping stone for other stars and he embraces it. And I say good for him. People who accept their placem and are plesent to work with usually have job security for life...which Regal does.
