I think to be Most Valuable Player, don't you need to...like, add value to your team? Kobe is a basketball black hole. The ball goes to him, it never leaves. It's a miracle that team is playoff-bound.

Really, the three viable MVP contenders at the moment are:

Steve Nash - Can't argue with six teammates having career years
LeBron James - Finally became a playmaker and not just a scorer
Chauncey Billups - The driving force behind the best team in the league

Personal bias would give it to Chauncey, but I'd understand either of the other two.
