That's a hard case to make, though, because if Kobe wasn't scoring his 30+ per night, then Lamar Odom would be getting more shots, like he did with the Clippers and Heat. The ball would move around more, and the "bit" players that LA has would be having much better years. Now, they probably would be an awful team, but honestly the Lakers aren't that good now. Take Kobe out, and they'd go from barely making the playoffs to barely missing the playoffs. Maybe you get a swing of ten games. The West (below the top 3) is weak enough where they'd still finish ahead of Portland, Minnesota, Houston, and Golden State.
