That's going to piss off a lot of the market who go to shut their brain off, though. I haven't seen the movie or played the games, but I'm sure I'm going to be swept to go with friends who, like so many other people (myself included) hope every horror film is the next Halloween and launches a new era of horror.

The general opinion seems to be a film good in style, but absolutely shit in substance. Why every horror film director needs to make their films as a substitute for masturbating is beyond me. Their goal isn't to please themselves. Silent Hill seems like one of the better ones, but from what I've been told, it becomes too much of a circus. If it focused on being scary instead of weird, this sounds like it could have been the winner.
