I was hoping for Vancouver's sake that they'd land Chara. Chara signed so quickly though, it's almost like he just wanted anywhere but Ottawa. I used to be a big Bruin fan, but after the deals that shipped off Samsonov and especially Thorton last year, I lost any remaining faith in them. Also, if I was a player, I'd avoid Boston like the plague. They have such a poor track record in their dealings with players.

I noticed Ottawa signing Gerber to replace Hasek hasn't got any mention yet. Hopefully Emery gets a shot at platooning for the #1 spot as I feel he earned it.

Another goal tending deal, one that I think is the sleeper this off season is Marc Denis going to Tampa Bay. Denis will be huge down there with the Bolts.
