The people behind it may have a hit on their hands if they do it. Because it is a familar character, the high budget that the assumed producers will have, and the history of comic book movies lately has been, to put it lightly, in their favor.
I, for one, hope it's true. I've been a big fan of Sailor Moon (the anime that made me like anime), and I think the fans deserve such treatment. Just think of the money they could make off of this, too.
By the way, another person that is said to be starring in it, as you saw: Jennifer Garner for Queen Beryl. I didn't know she wanted to BE in movies.
