Damn. Apparently this deal was meant to go down:

Astros get: Tejada
Orioles get: Heilman, Milledge
Mets get: Oswalt

...and the O's are the ones who backed, claiming they want ML-ready players despite being far out of it. Thanks alot Baltimore

Anyways, I like Hernandez and I believe the Mets woulda tried to get him anyway. Obviously there were bigger pitchers on the agenda but as soon as Sanchez was proclaimed likely out for the year they had to shift focus. I also doubt the Pirates were originally asking Nady for Robo until after learning of the injury.
