I think it comes down to the odd circumstances when the news broke, and the fact that Cory Lidle, especially after the trade, was a player that most people knew of, but that is about it. Nah you're right, if it'd been a legendary veteren like Roger Clemens or an all-american rookie star like David Wright there would've been people crying in the streets of various places
