I think the growing up playing it thing definitely has something to do with it. When I was growing up I would play basketball like every day, and I also played football and baseball a lot. Hockey? Never really, other than in gym class sometimes.

I think another part of it is that since nobody really cares about hockey here, you don't really try to care about it. If a sport is real big and everyone is talking about it, obviously you are going to want to check it out. But if nobody cares about it, why should you care?
