I don't know, his numbers are pretty comparable if you take out last season. His batting average is the only thing that has dropped, and he still hits at least .290.

I'm not saying he's in his prime or anything, but he's definitely still a feared hitter and a viable middle of the order kind of guy. He's probably not worth Bonderman but it really isn't THAT out of the question. I mean if I were the Tigers I wouldn't make the deal but it isn't like it's as ridiculous as Lowell for Pujols.

I also wouldn't call Sheffield overpriced at 13 million (which they might not even have to pay all of), especially considering what Soriano and Carlos Lee are going to get. He's definitely capable of putting up similar numbers too (minus the steals, but higher OBP and BA than Soriano).
