I don't own it, cuz I work(ed) at a video store and get stuff for free. But you've never seen it I say go ahead and buy it. Not really sure what extras are on the discs though. The show is frigging amazing. I've been salivating waiting for season 3. Spring break is next week. All I'm doing is watching it.
So ya, if you don't feel like buying, definitely rent them.
