Nintendo's still the best company out there for hardware reliability, but they have gone down a couple of pegs. The DS Lite had a huge run of faulty systems (Varying systems with cracks, screen glitches beyond either yellowing or dead pixels, and several where the D-Pad or buttons don't work), and so on, and Nintendo initially tried to ignore all the complaints until they blew up in the news...

They're above the curve, but they used to be an unrivalled basion of quality products. now there are lots of flaws in their systems, though thankfully the Wii seems to only have a few, and the DSL wasn't as widespread as things like DREs on the PS2. Still, it's disheartening.

...And like the bitch I am, I'll buy it anyway.
