I am worried that Punk will be buried also, honestly the most important thing for him to do is learn to play the backstage politics well enough to stay in the good graces of those who matter. Theres no doubt he is hugely (is that a word?) over right now WITHOUT having hardly done anything. (Honestly, what has he done of any significance?)

I agree with the idea of NOT to rush him to the main event but here's where I think I might have a little different opinion...main eventing ECW is not main eventing Raw or Smackdown and the ECW World Title is more on par with the IC or US titles. It is NOT too early to put the ECW belt on him, even make him dominate and run with the belt quite a while. Dominance in ECW would be a good lift and push for moving him up the ladder in the future. Nobody under an ECW banner is going to be main eventing Wrestlemania or anything and I think putting him in the upper tier of ECW is a nice step in eventually moving him the the upper tier of the WWE and being "the guy" in 3 or 4 years.
