The live membership goes by where you have your country to in your msn/hotmail account, so there shouldn't be any problems with that.
In fact thats how people from the UK have been getting the TV and HD films from live by setting up dummy accounts.
The only prolem I think you might have will be the power supply, it will obviously come with an american plug, which obviously wont work with a UK plug socket.
