You could have CT doing their stupid skits and have Shelton tell them it's wrong.
Eventually, they start to split apart, and argue over things. Then during a Hardy/Shelton IC title match, CT could come down and help Shelton screw over Hardy to win the title. After the match, Someone could interview him and say 'you were teaching CT to be different', and he could come back with 'screw that, I'm champ again, it doesn't matter how I win, it only matters that I do win'. Works with both Shelton's and CT's current persona's and could make CT half-interesting.
TWGTT have a decent legacy. They are remembered (certainly on here) as one of the best tag teams of recent times. To feed them to CT is criminal.

"Could have" doesn't mean it's the only way for things to be good. Some people might find THAT to be undesireable. Shelton doesn't have the mic skills to be a great "mentor" for Cryme Tyme "like Kurt Angle" was.
And I'm sorry, but two years as a tag team isn't enough to count as a legacy in my eyes. "(certainly on here)" may have hit the nail on the head, and "one of the best tag teams of recent times" isn't saying much. That's like saying you're one of the best of the worst.
