HOUSTON -- Wasting little time filling the void created by the departure of Andy Pettitte to the New York Yankees on Friday, Astros general manager Tim Purpura announced on Tuesday that the club had acquired right-hander Jason Jennings from Colorado in a five-player swap that brought Jennings and right-hander Miguel Asencio to Houston in exchange for center fielder Willy Taveras and right-handers Taylor Buchholz and Jason Hirsh.
I don't know how good of a deal this is for the Astros. Taveras is kind of underrated. Hirsh was their best pitching prospect, I think, and Buchholz was a top pitching prospect as well. I guess they needed to fill the Pettitte void.
