Maybe he could "die" in one of those situations where somebody like Tony or Chase has to choose between saving Jack or saving the city (or whatever) and Jack ends up getting screwed. This sounded better in my head lol, I'll stop typing now.

No, I get what your saying. And I think it would be ratings gold. It would symbolize almost what happened in Goldeneye. Bond turns his back on Alec and screws him over only to have Alec come back and almost destroy London. Jack would actually do it this time, turn on America and CTU and help out some country. Maybe Iraq, or Russia. Save the city or Save Jack. They shoot Jack but only shoot him in the leg. After that he is almost brain washed and the end of next season sees him possibly assasinating Palmer. (seems out there but that would fully make him a bad guy, or the heel)
