If you are talking about war movies, here's a fair list of things I can think of. I'll give a brief synopsis of each.

The Devil's Brigade: American and Canadian soliders hook up for a joint op.
The Dirty Dozen: American convicts get a shot a freedom.
Stalag 17: William Holden vs. an entire POW camp.
The Great Escape: Damn good cast. The title explains the story.
We Were Soldiers: Mel Gibson goes to Vietnam.
Platoon: One of Oliver Stone's classics. (Alexander doesn't count)

That's all I could think of for now. Either rent them or watch AMC or TCM.
