Dave - When I join a league I look for a commish to be fair, impartial, intelligent and mature. You are none of those things - so don't flatter yourself into thinking that I would want to join your league.
As for categories - one thing to keep in mind is that the stats chosen don't skew the league in favour of a particular type of player. In previous years there have been leagues that have had HR, Total bases, slugging etc compared with just SB or Hits so as a result having a Barry Bonds type player can win you 3 cats a week while Ichiro might win you just one cat. The same also goes for pitching for example if you have K's + K/9 etc then power pitchers become super valuable while a groundball pitcher like Wang is considered of less value than Randy Johnson.
I also like fielding stats because there is more to the game in real life than just hitting.
So IMO it doesn't matter what the categories are but they should reflect all the different skills required and they should be balanced.
