Kane is a huge success story in an area of wrestling that has very little success, at least long term in a serious main event capacity. Thats over the top supernatural gimmicks. And Kane is probably the second best one ever. So I wouldn't say the character was fucked in no time, and if it was, it happened longer down the road than anyone would have thought.

Kane has been a joke almost since inception. I think this is what he's referring to, but in terms of longevity, he has made it as a glorified jobber, the upper card's Scotty 2 Hotty.
