I think the problem with Bay is that he gets these huge budgets to do all this amazing shit, and yet it somehow turns out to be boring. He's kind of like the John Cena of filmmaking. A budget that large could go towards funding some more talented directors to come up with interesting shit.

I'm not going to shit on Transformers, though. I'm sure Hugo Weaving will be entertaining as fuck as Megatron, plus Bay's reputation for mindless action will be pretty sweet in a movie that already has established characters and its lines drawn.

I really think Transformers will kick ass, and I think it could be Bay's best movie to date.
