I don't know. I suppose there'd be the no compete clause, or the stipulation that upon outright quitting without official relase by WWE the wrestler can't partake in another promotion, at least not a televised one.
There's so much red tape now around things. Wrestlers are literally kept hostage and are tied up for so long that they can be damaged goods long before they're free. It's similar to WCW in a lot of ways.
