Umm, Bret still had a couple months left on his cntract with Vince. You people keep forgetting that. He wasnt done right after SS. Which is why Bret brought up the compromise and wanted to use his reasonable creative control. If anything, Vince was given a good oppurtunity to do things in a proper manner.
WCW had absolutely no control over Bret until early 1998. Besides that point, Bret came from a family of strong tradition engraved in the business. I think Stu would be appalled by such an action, and Bret knew it. Besides that, Bret doesnt se the type to be easily manipulated into doing something like that, especially after all the loyalty he brought to the wwe.
