Yeah I see what you're saying. I'd assume that in the Wii version, if they do end up making it more socially interactive, that they'd add more things you could do with other players. Otherwise it would seem like a very empty game. Like give you the option to trade furniture and stuff, or like have a fishing tournament or something.
I think you're right though, wouldn't really work sans NPC animals. I like that idea of a regional town you have to go to. Have it kind of like the Mii Plaza on the Wii, only obviously with more stuff to do than stand around.
