Orton can eventually develop a solid rivalry with Cena (kinda like Rock/HHH 98).
RVD on the other hand, could become one of "Heyman's boy's" and turn heel (like he was in ECW). I don't think the fans would readily accept him as a heel, but who knows.
RVD could have some great matches with Guerrero, Kidman, etc.,

I think at this point and time in RVD's career the fans would accept anything new. I think most people are sick of seeing RVD battle BIG HOSS guy who can't get himself over, rookie who can't get himself over....world heavyweight champion that can't get himself over
