Anyone else a little worried about Neversoft doing this instead of Harmonix?

A little. They do have some credibility with the Tony Hawk games back in the day, but Harmonix has basically owned some of the more interesting rhythm and music games over the past decade.
But all Neversoft has to do really is emulate the old games. Besides multiplayer, I'd say the gameplay is about as good as it is going to get.
