I don't doubt you, but I assure you the theater I was at was disgruntled. I saw it Memorial Day afternoon though. I'm sure the reaction was different with a packed house of fans/fanboys at an opening day or midnight showing, which I'm assuming you went to? I don't mean that as a pot shot, I go to fanboy showings all the time. It's just a different crowd than your casual monday afternooners.
