You know fuck it, I think they would have done a better job. They LOVE comic books and would have bust their colletive nuts to make it awesome. Fans boy's wouldn't be disappointed because they themselves are fan boys.

Sam Raimis a huge Spiderman mark. The Wachowski Brothers suck. I don't care how much they make comics, they would have made the movie be all slow mo with techno music and S&M references and sexual stuff to suit their needs. One of them is a transexual. Their too fucked up to be doing something like Spider-Man. They'd be better suited doing Blade or just dropping off the face of the map. The fact that they're known sort of angers me. They suck.
