I think Test proved that he could be a main eventer during the HHH/Stephanie/Test Marriage angle a few years back. He was mad over with the fans and was having some really get matches with members of DX and Shane McMahon.

Then HHH and Steph revealed that they were in on it together, and who got the main event match against Triple H? Vince McMahon did.

Had Test been put into that match and HHH had actually sold to him, Test would be in an entirely different situation right now.
